Auto Printing from a Folder

SanePrint watches hot folders

A hot folder is a directory, which monitors incoming files. When new files arrive, the software detects them and automatically prints them in line with predefined print settings. It is specified to be polled periodically — within every second or a longer time period. The use of include and exclude options and wildcard characters will also help you, if you want to exclude certain file types from the monitoring process.

How to send print jobs over a network to a printer located overseas? Easy! SanePrint can monitor documents exchanged via FTP,  a cloud storage like Google Drive or other shared environment and automatically print them. Print actions are executed automatically based on configurations.

SanePrint can include or exclude files by mask: filename, file extension or paper size. Use special filters in order to include or exclude files by mask. For example, pick only PDF files or only documents with paper size A4 or documents containing "invoice" in their file name. SanePrint can create routes for your documents — sending them to a specific printer located anywhere.

 

Switching to Another Printer On the Go

SanePrint has printer load balancing functionality, which allows automated spreading print jobs among printers. If there are multiple printers in your system, and large volumes of documents need printing, SanePrint distributes jobs evenly between queues taking into account printer load and error conditions as well as other factors. Also, printer failover algorithm quickly switches to another printer, if the primary printer is unavailable for some reason.

Add a cover page to separate printed copies of your documents. You will be able to use a default cover page template, a blank sheet of paper (to save ink!) or create a custom cover page template.

Print many different documents at once

Automate printing in batch on Windows! No need to open files one by one — with SanePrint you can easily set up seamless printing of PDF, Microsoft Office documents and other types of files on a regular basis.

 

Print all files from a folder or archive

Simplify printing all supported filetypes or files of a certain extension within a folder, or add an entire folder with documents. SanePrint can also print documents directly from a RAR, ZIP or 7-ZIP archive without the need to extract them.

 

Merge files and send them to printer as a single print job

SanePrint can merge multiple documents as you are sending them to the printer so they all show under the same print job. This way, you can combine multiple PDFs into one and print them at once. It is a useful feature, e.g. if you wish to have some documents printed together or keep track of documents printed from a specific user or account.

 

Add a watermark to your document

This feature allows you to automatically place a watermark on printed documents. You can add document pagination, current date, company letterhead, logo, stamp or something else as a watermark using in-built macros. A watermark can be easily created directly in SanePrint or from a text file, an image or another file.  

 

Set Up Printing on Server

SanePrint can work as a Windows local service and operate in an unattended mode, no user input required. This feature lets you set up a stand-alone printing system on server and print documents without user interaction.

 

Printing at a Specified Time

Create and set up running custom scripts or applications to trigger printing of documents on schedule or at a certain event (at workstation lock/unlock, at startup, at log on, etc.). A batch file, executable or visual basic script can also be executed.
